The project transforms an old village house into a modern family residence, revitalizing the historic property while preserving the village’s heritage. A carefully designed modern extension minimises impact on the village’s character from key viewpoints, blending harmoniously with the coastal section while remaining concealed from the traditional village area.
The renovation reimagines the old house as a dedicated bedroom floor, featuring two children’s rooms and a master bedroom positioned to capture stunning views of the historic monastery. Above the bedrooms, the modern extension creates a new living area with a fully glazed facade facing north and west, offering panoramic vistas of the village and Kyrenia City. The building smoothly integrates with the mountainous landscape as the surrounding terrain cascades down, enhancing the overall connection between the residence and its natural surroundings.
